MID-YEAR MOMENTUM
As we’re about to hit the halfway mark of the year and head into the heart of summer, things at LECI are anything but slowing down. Work is steady, demand is strong, and we’ve got plenty on our plate—and we wouldn’t have it any other way. In just the past few months, we’ve welcomed an incredible wave of new talent across the board—from the field to the service department to our corporate office—and the momentum is still building. We’re continuing to grow our team. This season is a natural time to reflect, and we want to take a moment to say thank you. To every member of the LECI team: your dedication, skill, and hard work are what power everything we do. LECI is proud to grow alongside each of you—and we can’t wait to see what we’ll accomplish together by year’s end.
LECI REMINDERS & NEWS
IEC Apprenticeship School starts this June! If you’re interested in joining our apprenticeship program—or know someone who might be—please reach out to Teri for more information. But that’s not all—we’re also excited to share a great opportunity to earn while helping grow the LECI team. We’re offering a $1,000 referral bonus for anyone who refers a Foreman or Superintendent who joins us and stays on for 90 days or more.
FEATURED JOB
This featured job highlights the work done on the Banks Cold Storage project, located in Commerce, Georgia, spanning 204,721 square feet. The facility featured the first five European condensers and the first eight Linde narrow aisle high lift cold storage material handlers in the U.S. Despite the project’s manageable size, it involved overcoming significant challenges, including complex electrical systems and a particularly tough fire alarm system.
John Walsh, the Superintendent on the project, shared his experience:
“My job was overseeing the Banks Cold Storage project, which included importing cutting-edge equipment from Europe and Germany. The biggest challenge was the fire alarm system—it required a lot of problem-solving. Despite the ups and downs, my focus was always on achieving perfection.”
Stay tuned for more stories of LECI employees’ work in the field.
EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT
We are excited to shine this month’s spotlight on a familiar face who has recently rejoined the LECI team—Michelle Brooks, our new Controller! Michelle originally joined LECI back in 2017, and during her time with us until 2018, she played a pivotal role in transforming our internal systems. She was a key player in the installation and implementation of Sage. After her time at LECI, Michelle continued to support our company in a different capacity, working as an outside accountant. Fast forward to today—we are thrilled to have Michelle back with us full-time as our new Controller. Her return has already made a noticeable impact. Michelle brings a wealth of financial expertise and has quickly become a much-needed and deeply appreciated member of our finance team. Her deep understanding of our company’s systems and culture means she hit the ground running, and we’re genuinely excited to see what she’ll accomplish in this next chapter with LECI. Please join us in welcoming Michelle back to the team!
If you know a colleague who goes above and beyond or deserves to be recognized for their contributions, please reach out to HR to nominate them for a spotlight.
OUR EMPLOYEES CARE
A big thanks goes out to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA) for providing tickets to the 2025 CHOA Spring Classic. A highly anticipated matchup between UGA and Georgia Tech. LECI was honored to receive these tickets and even more excited to pay it forward by sharing them with our employees and the JCHS baseball team. It was a memorable evening of baseball and giving back – all for a cause that truly matters. In front of a crowd of 15,000 fans, UGA delivered a 5-2 victory over Georgia Tech. Highlights included two home runs that pushed Georgia’s team total to 100 on the season. Georgia now leads the Spring Classic series 15-7, and this year marked the first time the game was hosted at Truist Park. But more than the final score, it was about supporting CHOA and its mission to provide care to children and families across Georgia. At LECI, we believe in the power of community, and we’re proud to stand behind an organization that makes such a meaningful difference. LECI is proud to support CHOA and to continue finding opportunities to give back.
SUPERINTENDENT & FOREMAN MEETING
We had our 4th Annual Field Management Meeting and it was a huge success, with 75+ team members joining us from April 25th to the 26th. We covered everything from important updates and reminders to job site best practices, certifications, and more. Huge thanks to United Rentals for joining us to share their services! A big thank you as well to the taco truck for catering for the meeting. Can’t wait for next year’s 5th Annual Meeting!
TERI TALKS HR
Talk the Talk: Keeping It Professional and Respectful
Whether you’re chatting with a customer or collaborating with a coworker, how we
communicate makes a big difference. A little professionalism and respect go a long way—and
help keep things running smoothly for everyone. This includes whether you speak face to
face, on the phone, via text message, or by email.
Here are a few easy tips to keep in mind:
- Listen up. Let people finish what they’re saying before jumping in.
- Be polite. Simple words like “please” and “thank you” really do matter.
- Stay cool. Even if a conversation gets tricky, keeping your tone calm and respectful
helps steer it in the right direction. - Keep it clean. Friendly is great, but let’s skip the slang or anything that might come off
as too casual or off-putting.
At the end of the day, we’re all working toward the same goals. A little kindness and professionalism in how we speak helps create a better environment for everyone—inside and outside the building.
21 YEARS WITH LECI
With 21 years of service, Tim Long has made a lasting impact on LECI. His electrical career began in 1981. In a twist of fate, Tim met LECI’s founder, Lewis, during a one-off softball game—an encounter that sparked a connection and led to his journey with LECI. He joined shortly after as a Superintendent, advancing to Project Manager, Senior Project Manager, and now Service Manager. Outside of work, Tim is passionate about basketball, having played, coached, and officiated. Thank you, Tim, for the leadership and commitment you bring to LECI.
